About Jim

I started playing drums at the age of 4.  After growing up here on the  Jersey Shore I headed to Florida for college and started my professional career. From jazz performances around Northeast Florida to recording and touring with recording bands like The Outlaws and Molly Hatchet, I learned early in my career that I needed to adapt to several styles of playing and be able to perform in multiple genres. I even spent a concert season as a percussionist with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra.

After 10 years in Florida I returned to my N.J. roots, performing in the Atlantic City / Philadelphia area. It was here, back home in New Jersey that I began a rewarding career in Music Education and enjoyed spending 26 years as a music educator all the while continuing to play drums and perform. I am now retired from the N.J public school system, currently teaching privately, and actively  entertaining and performing in the Atlantic City area with several different bands.

Jim serves on the Board of Directors of Tony Marts Cares – a non-profit organization that supports musicians in need, and is a board member for the South Jersey Jazz Society, an organization that is dedicted to preserving and promoting Americas first art form, Jazz.
